Linking a ticket to a project
Follow these steps to link a ticket to a project:
- Go to Shared inbox.
- Click on the ticket you want to link to a project > click the pencil icon or create a new ticket.
- In the ‘Project’ field, select one of your projects.
-
Save the ticket and you’ll see the link to the project on the detail page of the ticket.
Notes:
- When linking a ticket to a project with a new customer, that customer will automatically be added to the project.
-
To unlink your project from a ticket, open the details of the ticket again via the pencil icon and click on the small cross icon next to the ‘Project’ field.
View linked tickets in your project
In your project, you can find an overview of the linked tickets by following these steps:
- Navigate to the Project.
- Click on the tab Project info.
- Scroll down to ‘Linked tickets’. Here, you’ll find each ticket with their number, ticket subject and ticket status.
Link new tickets from your project
You can also link a new ticket from your project directly:
- Navigate to the project > Project info.
- Scroll down to Linked tickets > +.
- Fill out the details of the ticket. The customer you link to the ticket will also be added as a customer to the project.
Time tracking project via ticket
You can also add time tracking to your project via this ticket, but it’s important to know you can only do that via a task linked to your ticket.
- Link a task to your ticket first.
- Make sure you link your project in that task you create.
- Track time on the task.
- The time tracking will appear in your ticket together with the linked project:
Navigate to your project and you’ll find the linked task together with its time tracking in the work breakdown overview of your project. Read more about tracking time on a ticket here.
