Caller identification allows you to identify incoming callers directly from your mobile device, without needing to have the contact saved in your phone's native address book. This is all possible via Teamleader Focus' mobile app. Read all about it here!
Download our app here (Android or iOS) or via this QR code:
When a contact or company from your Teamleader CRM calls you, the mobile app compares the incoming phone number with a local contact database built from profiles you have previously opened or searched for in Teamleader Focus. If there is a match, the caller's name and Teamleader branding are shown on your call screen.
Notes:
- Only contacts you have previously viewed or searched in the app are included in the local database.
- When you delete a contact or company via the app, that contact or company is immediately deleted from the local database as well.
How it works per platform
- iOS: Contact info is surfaced using iOS's native Call Directory framework. The caller's name appears on the incoming call screen with an "Identified by Teamleader Focus" label. Due to iOS limitations, this only works if the contact is not already saved in Apple Phonebook.
-
Android: A custom overlay is shown on the incoming call screen, displaying the CRM contact's name and Teamleader branding.
Note: If multiple contacts share the same phone number, then the name that is shown is either the person that was added first in the local database, or the person you called most recently via the app.
How to enable caller identification
You can enable caller identification via the toggle in the app menu. The feature is disabled by default on both Android and iOS.
- Go to your mobile app
- Tap Menu in the bottom right-hand corner
- Tap the toggle Caller identification
When you turn on the toggle, the app will prompt you to grant the required permissions. Follow the steps below for your platform.
iOS
- After enabling the toggle Caller identification, you have to allow the requested permissions.
- Tap Continue
- Tap Call blocking and identification
- Enable the toggle Teamleader Focus
Or watch the video here:
Follow these steps if you want to access or edit this permission manually afterwards:
- On your iPhone, go to Settings > Apps
- Tap Phone
- Tap Call Blocking & Identification
- Enable the toggle Teamleader Focus
Android
For Android, allow the requested permissions when prompted:
- After enabling the toggle Caller identification, select 'Teamleader Focus' and click on Set as default
- Tap Allow
Android requires permissions in two separate places. Follow these steps if you want to access or edit this permission manually afterwards:
Permission 1 — Phone access:
- Go to Settings > Apps
- Tap Teamleader Focus
- Tap Privacy > Permissions
- Set Phone to Allowed
- Go to Settings > Apps
- Tap the Default Apps > Apps for caller ID & Spam
- Enable Teamleader Focus
Notes:
- Using Android with a work profile? Make sure you are looking in the correct profile (personal or work) when managing these permissions.
- This feature is optimised for Samsung devices and may not work on other Android devices.
How to disable caller identification
You can turn off the toggle in the app menu at any time. This will remove the local contact database after 1 hour.
Important: Disabling the toggle in the app does not automatically remove the permissions granted on your device. If you want to fully revoke access, remove the permissions manually via your device settings using the steps above.
